ONE OF THE MOST PROVEN WAY TO PREVENT SUICIDE AND SELF HARM! According to recent studies the best thing you can do for yourself or someone who comes up to you is make a “Crisis Response Plan”
A year and a half ago, I learned how to make one and I want to share it with all of you.
▪Get an index card and divide it into 4 sections.
▪1st Section: Warning Signs- Things that personally trigger you ▪2nd Section: Things to Do- Things that help you feel better in the moment
▪3rd Section: Who to Call- Write down who it is AND the number! In a crisis your mind can get flustered and forget their number and if you don’t have your phone with your contacts that could be dangerous.
This can be family, friends, or other numbers like 911, Wasatch Mental Health 801-373-7393, Suicide Prevention Hotline 800-273-8255, etc.
▪4th Section: Reasons to Live- What Motivates You
Keep this card in a place you won’t lose it, and will always have it, like a wallet.
